A guard out of Nebraska
Hoiberg, 23, reaches this point after completing his college career at Nebraska. He averaged 9.3 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 2.0 steals across 35 games in 2025/26, production that shows his ability to contribute in several areas.
What changes for Phoenix
The move reduces the competition in the Suns' preseason backcourt group. Because the waiver is effective, Hoiberg no longer occupies a spot on Phoenix's roster and is available to determine his next professional step.
The length and financial terms of his agreement with the franchise were not disclosed. There is also no verified information about a deal with another team or a subsequent G League destination.
