Milan has submitted a bid to host the EuroLeague Final Four in 2030 at the new Unipol Dome in Santa Giulia, aiming to bring the competition’s showpiece weekend back to the city more than a decade after its last staging there. The proposal positions the under-construction arena as the centrepiece of the project to stage the decisive weekend of the competition.
The project fits into an advanced long-term hosting framework, with Abu Dhabi linked to 2027 and 2029 and Valencia and its Roig Arena to 2028, a context outlined by Eurohoops and Sportando following initial reporting by La Gazzetta dello Sport.
Bid centred on the Unipol Dome
The Unipol Dome, conceived as a flagship arena in the Santa Giulia district, would host the semi-finals, final and official activities. The choice of a next-generation venue meets the capacity, services and international profile required by the EuroLeague for its flagship event.
The Milan bid revives the city’s ambition to stage the Final Four again, last held there in 2014 at the Mediolanum Forum in Assago.
EuroLeague long-term planning
The 2030 initiative comes as the EuroLeague already has upcoming hosts well advanced, allowing organisers to work further ahead on logistics, promotion and the experience for fans and teams.
If awarded, Milan would return to the centre of the continental calendar and strengthen its status as a host for major European basketball events.
