Mark Mitchell has chosen to return to college basketball and turned down a preseason roster opportunity with the Denver Nuggets on an Exhibit 10 contract. The forward, who played Summer League with Denver after going undrafted in the 2026 NBA Draft, has re-enrolled at the University of Missouri to resume his career in NCAA Division I.

Mitchell, cleared to play a fifth college season, returns to a Missouri program where he averaged 18.3 points and 5.2 rebounds in his last campaign. The formal re-enrollment marks a definitive return to the college game after months of uncertainty over his academic and professional path.

Mitchell had first committed to Kentucky, but the move ran into SEC opposition to intraconference transfers completed outside the transfer window. That administrative hurdle, combined with the chance to test the NBA market, made for a turbulent summer that now ends with a college decision.
