Casademont Zaragoza have officially confirmed the return of Jilson Bango through the end of the 2026-2027 season. The Angolan center, a free agent after his spell with Fenerbahçe, is back with the club in a move effective from 1 September 2026, although his integration into the squad will depend on medical clearance.

An official return with recovery still pending

The Aragonese club reached an agreement with Bango (6-foot-10, born 1999) for him to rejoin the Liga Endesa roster as Gonzalo García de Vitoria twelfth player. The deal is now formalised, but the big man will not join team activities immediately.

Bango is in the final stage of recovery from a left knee injury and still requires one last surgery in Zaragoza, with rehabilitation overseen by the club medical staff. He will only return to training and competition once cleared.

A familiar face for the Marea Roja

Bango is no stranger to the project. Before leaving for Fenerbahçe in February 2025, he became one of the ACB breakout stories in Zaragoza, averaging 13.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 16.1 valuation. He was named Round MVP three times and earned Player of the Month honours in December 2024.

His return adds a third center alongside Laurynas Birutis and Gabriel Olaseni. Casademont Zaragoza gain interior depth and continuity with a player who already knows the system, even if availability will follow the recovery timeline.

What he brings to the roster

Bango profile fits a roster seeking paint depth and reliable rotation minutes. His size, interior awareness and previous spell in Zaragoza should ease adaptation once fully fit, while the club fills the gap left by his departure abroad eighteen months ago.

The move, reported by acb.com oficial and also covered by Europa Press, puts the Angolan back on the domestic map without guaranteeing immediate court time.
